Solar entrepreneur Dr Andreas Leimbach joins Lightyears as advisory board member and investor

Lightyears has welcomed Dr Andreas Leimbach to its advisory board, and an investor into the company.  

Dr Leimbach, the Managing Director of German investment company SolarKapital, brings with him over 12 years of hands-on experience as an entrepreneurial investor in solar energy projects throughout Europe. His background also includes two decades in corporate banking, structured finance, and private equity in Germany, where he has led major organisations and honed his expertise in strategy, personnel management, sales, and operational processes. 

Dr Leimbach’s appointment to the Lightyears advisory board underscores our commitment to expanding our portfolio of grid-connected solar farms across New Zealand. His deep knowledge of utility-scale solar developments in Europe will provide valuable insights and guidance as we accelerate our growth. In addition to his board role, Dr Leimbach has also taken an equity stake in Lightyears as an investor.
