Waiuku Solar Farm - 2.4 MW
The 2.4 MW Waiuku Solar Farm is built on three hectares of farmland in Waiuku, south of Auckland. It was commissioned in October 2023 and is connected to the Counties Energy network. The paddocks are being shared with pigs and small cows.
Nearly 4,000 solar panels serve two functions: generating energy, and providing shelter and shade for pigs and other small livestock. At peak output, the farm produces enough energy to power approximately 500 homes.
