Waimakariri Solar Farm 5 MW
The Waimakariri Solar Farm will sit across eight hectares of an existing farm near Rangiora. It will include approximately 8000 solar panels, building a mid-sized, dual use solar farm, where animals can continue grazing while renewable energy is generated.
Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2025 and it will connect to the MainPower network.
The farm will generate 5 MW of renewable energy, which will mostly be consumed locally, providing for some of the district’s daytime energy needs.
